An actress, Blessing Asibe, popularly known as Amaka, the name of the character she played in the popular TV series, Super Story, has returned to the movie industry after being absent for 12 years.
Revealing why she was away for so long, she told Sunday Scoop, “I left the scene for personal reasons, and I don’t want to talk about them. I actually left the industry after acting as Amaka. It was Super Story by Wale Adenuga that actually shot me into the limelight. Two or three years afterwards, I left the scene and travelled out of the country. I went to do other things, but I had to come back, because it felt like ‘Amaka’ was stuck to me.
“During my absence, people wanted me back. My fans kept asking where I was. They told me they missed me, and wanted me back.
“My love for the craft and the overwhelming support of fans drew me back to Nollywood.”
Asibe also stated that since her return, she had been actively working on movies.
“I am back and I have been working for the past two years. I am also eager to take on new roles.”
